AT SATECO IMPOSSIBLE DOES NOT EXIST !
In 2007, Schneider, leader in the transformer block market, was confronted with a deficit in its production capacity. How to achieve a factory output of three transformer blocks per day?
WHEN SCHNEIDER WINS, SATECO WINS TOO
It’s simple, ask SATECO to supply custom designed material, using their industrial equipment.
That means, a complete assembly line enabling MATERLIGNES factories (a Scheider subsidiary) to produce the BIOSCO 348 type transformers (3 complete sets per day, i.e. 1 every 8 hours).
TECHNICAL EXPERTISE AND PRECISION
SATECO provided Scheider with all the casts, tools and know how to produce the finished product, a complete assembly line that was then installed by SATECO staff. This request was a real challenge for SATECO, as the prefabrication required extreme technical expertise.
This technical expertise was also needed for the accurate assembly of all the parts (the small bushings have a positioning tolerance of a 10th of a mm) and also for the complicated mounting of the different elements (hydraulic and heating).
The transformer block is composed of seven main parts: the concrete slab, the front wall, the rear wall, the right pinion, the left pinion, the intermediate slab and the cover. SATECO devised and implemented a new organisation for assembly line installation, by which each team strips the preceding team’s work, cleans, prepares and casts the concrete for the following team.
SATECO’s ambition is to be a reliable partner for its customers (but that’s not all). The company aspires to innovation in its products and the manner in which it approaches the different problems but above all it aspires to be pragmatic and get straight to the point.
